In the test we conducted over the course of about one month, here are the results from the tests we performed:

20-30 Days (there is a decrease in taste and aroma by the 2nd week) 20-30 Days (there is a decrease in taste and aroma by the 2nd week) 40-50 Days (there is a decrease in taste and aroma by the 4th week) 20-30 Days (there is a decrease in taste and aroma by the 1st week) If you are a regular coffee drinker, having 2-3 cups a day, the 250g coffee you buy may be finished in just one week. In that case, storage is not much of an issue. Therefore, we recommend purchasing coffee in 250g amounts to minimize storage problems.

However, we have a solution for those of you who might want to enjoy coffee later. This is usually the case for expensive coffee or coffee that might not be available in Indonesia, and of course, you wouldn't want to finish it all at once.

Freeze Coffee Beans – freezing coffee beans is the answer. There are several methods circulating on how to properly freeze coffee beans, but we have concluded on one simple and practical method.

You just need to prepare a Vacuum Seal Bag or Tube Cylinder Centrifuge if you want it to be reusable. Then, you can portion out the coffee for each brew (for example: 12.5g). After that, don’t forget to label each bag/tube with the coffee’s name and roasting date, so it’s easier to differentiate the coffees you will store later.

When you’re ready to brew, you don’t need to wait for the coffee beans to return to room temperature. We recommend grinding them directly from the freezer and brewing right away. Don’t worry—the frozen beans won’t be too hard. In fact, frozen coffee beans will actually be easier to grind than those at room temperature.

This freezing method can preserve the flavor and aroma of your coffee for up to 10-12 months. Why for that long?

It’s similar to how we store fruits, vegetables, or meat in the refrigerator. Just like these items, coffee’s aging process—leading to the loss of flavor and aroma—slows down in the cold temperature of the fridge. Of course, the vacuum-sealed or tube packaging also helps, as the minimal air trapped inside further extends the coffee’s shelf life.
